Kilian Speaks at IIT Stuart School of Business in Chicago
Tom Kilian, President of Kilian Integrated Marketing, was invited to speak at the Stuart School of Business in Chicago, Illinois on November 13.
Kilian presented to MBA students on Business Strategy in the Digital Age while emphasizing the importance of customer-centric Internet marketing. "It could take a few minutes to set up an AdWords campaign, but it takes a lifetime to grasp consumer behavior. There simply is no shortcut to strategic marketing, despite advances in technology and media," Kilian asserts.
Kilian was invited to IIT by Professor Tom Marnell who has twenty-plus years focusing on database driven marketing programs. Prior to becoming a consultant, Marnell spent six years with two top-ten advertising agencies. Marnell states that getting to the heart of the marketplace is essential, and it can be done by "separating the real problem or opportunity from all the other things clouding most marketers' vision."

Tom Kilian, President of Kilian Integrated Marketing, has studied and worked with cutting edge tactics and emerging markets in the Chicago area. Originally from Wausau, Wisconsin, he holds a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) from Roosevelt University in Chicago - one of the largest advertising-related graduate programs in the country. Tom graduated first in his class from this program and was the founding President of the Roosevelt Association of Marketing Communications (RAMC).
Tom also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and English from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, where he studied under a Presidential Scholarship. Fluent in Spanish, Tom studied and lived in Central America during his undergraduate education and now applies his cultural and language insights to the Spanish-dominant Hispanic segment and multicultural marketing in the United States.
Tom has worked in some of America's top-ranked multicultural and interactive (Internet) agencies, in both Consulting and Client Services divisions. Prior to opening Kilian Integrated Marketing in Wausau, Tom worked in Client Services at Leapfrog Online - ranked 11th among Interactive Agencies by Advertising Age in 2007. While at Leapfrog Online, Tom worked on the Comcast, Cox Communications, and Time Warner accounts. He has a strong strategic and tactical background in online customer acquisition and lead generation programs, and has led the development of an online multicultural campaign for a Fortune 500 company.
